Cranberry Apple Cinnamon Pie

120. A warm slice of pie with a tall glass of cold milk...mug of warm milk...cup of hot tea...fantastic cup of coffee! Whatever you choose as an accompaniment to your pie always adds enhancement to the flavor.

A classic Apple Pie is a universal choice. This recipe takes the favorite classic and adds an additional tart variance. Fresh cranberries, lemon zest and cinnamon are highlights to the flavor. One of the most important keys to flavor, is to use butter in the crust.

"Cranberry Apple Cinnamon Pie"

1 pie crust recipe for a double crusted pie

3 or 4 large apples peeled, cored and sliced thin
1 cup sugar
1 ½cups fresh cranberries
2 level Tablespoons corn starch
2 teaspoons cinnamon
zest of a whole large lemon
½ tsp ground clove

Prepare crust and roll out to fit a 9" pie plate.

Mix together in large bowl the remaining ingredients. Set aside for 20 minutes.
Pour into the bottom pie crust and arrange by mounding in center or spreading out evenly, your desired shape of the pie.
Dot with butter and place top crust over fruit and close edges. Brush top of pie with water and sprinkle course sugar over. Cut vent openings for the steam to escape. Bake 350̊ for one hour or till center fruit is bubbling.
The apples bake so beautifully and the cranberries pop in the baking process and soften.
The crust is flaky and light!
So would you like tea or coffee with your pie?
